Thinking about the Philippines then this very active site is just for you.

Welcome to the Philippines.  I have lived in the West all of my life and never thought for one minute that I would ever find myself living a life  in the Philippines.  However life can throw up many surprises and living here in the Philippines was certainly one of them.

I sometimes have to close my eyes and ask myself am I really here.

Sadly I suffered a tragedy in my life when my wife passed away at the age of 44. Like many in my position I wondered what on earth I would do.

You have to keep going and you have to pick yourself up, at least this is what people kept saying to me. After what seemed a very long period I started to re-enter the world after all I was 57 and really felt that I still had some life left in me. Living in the Philippines had never entered my head. But as the saying goes how a life can change.

I thought about the possibility of meeting another partner and trying to reassemble my life. This was not easy as I had assumed my life was already mapped out in front of me. As for meeting someone else well the thought had never occurred to me.

Now then to cut a very long story short as I do not want you to go to sleep on me. Well, can you guess what happened next! I bet some of you will have an idea on this.

I met a Filipino lady and we became rather good friends. She started to tell me all about the Philippines so of course you can guess where we ended up going for a holiday, yes it was the Philippines.

I now realize fully what the meaning means.

“And now for something completely different”

Moving on just a little, after a while we got married and as she is from Pontevedra we found ourselves visiting Bacolod in the Philippines rather regularly.

Well you guessed it we now live in Bacolod in the Philippines.

I would not go back home if you paid me to because now I live in the Philippines which is a tropical paradise with people who are amongst the friendliest in the world.

So there you have it just a little about me and how a life can change.

I have now been enjoying living in the Philippines for some time and I suppose I have become somewhat of an expert on the ins and outs of living here. I am not saying that I know it all though but I would say I know a lot more than most because I live here.
